The European School of Mol is recruiting: 1 Educational support teacher English section

Responsibilities

As an educational support teacher, you will:

• Work with pupils who need Educational Support and who have special educational needs (learning, emotional, behavioural and/or physical needs)
• Provide General support to small groups in or outside the classroom as well as Moderate and Intensive support in small groups or individual support in or outside the classroom
• Use appropriated differentiated teaching methods and support pupils in developing appropriate learning strategies using adapted teaching material
• Undertake detailed observation and assessment and supports Class and Subject teachers in early identification of educational support needs
• Decide on the most appropriate teaching strategies for the pupil, in consultation with the class or subject teacher and any other professionals working with the pupil
• Write a GLP for the group receiving General support and an ILP for each pupil receiving moderate or intensive support in cooperation with the class/subject teacher
• Liaise and work under the coordination of the EdSup Coordinator
• Liaise and cooperate with the Class or Subject teachers and the other members of the team during the learning process, advising them on the various learning profiles of pupils with specific learning needs and special education needs and innovative approaches in teaching and learning to cater for those needs
• Liaise with external experts and therapists working under tripartite agreement
• Evaluate the pupil’s progress
• Keep records of achievement to have accessible information when needed
• Liaise with parents about the child’s progress and need
• Attend meetings and training work
• Take responsibility for their continuous professional development, including reflecting on their (own) practice and continually learning and updating their knowledge

Profile and requirements

• You are a qualified teacher for secondary school:
  • Specific qualification in educational support, inclusive education or special needs (e.g. Banaba zorgverbreding en  remediërend leren (BE), Bachelor orthopedagogie (BE), Master educational needs (NL) or similar)
    Candidates without the appropriate diploma cannot be considered for this position.
  • Experience in providing educational support, inclusive education or special needs
• You are a native speaker or language knowledge with official certificate by an independent certifying body
  • Language: English level C1
  • Knowledge of one of the other vehicular languages (FR/DE) or NL are an asset
• Candidates must be entitled to work in Belgium
• Candidates must be in possession of a recent DBS check ("Certificate of good conduct")

Selection procedure

Suitable candidates will be added to the recruitment reserve list. We keep this list for a maximum of 3 years.

Offer

• A fulltime contract according to the Service regulations for locally recruited teachers in the European Schools (Ref.: ) starting on 01/09/2025 and ending on 31/08/2027 with the possibility of prolongation
• Brut monthly salary € 6.524,00 for full time = 21 periods per week
• Removal costs (art. 37)
  "A locally recruited teacher recruited for a minimum period of one year and a contract providing a minimum of 16 hours/periods per week shall, as provided in Article 59 and Article 62 of the Regulations for Seconded Staff Members of the European Schools, be entitled to reimbursement of the expenses caused by the removal to the place of the school (...)".
• Installation allowance (art. 37bis)
  "A locally recruited teacher recruited for a minimum period of one year and a contract providing a minimum of 16 hours/periods per week who furnishes evidence of having been obliged to change his/her place of residence and of having actually settled at his/her place of employment (...) shall be entitled (a) to an installation allowance (...)".
